Set weights for categories you create in Universal Settings in the Dashboard on your homepage. Weighting only counts for categories in which you have assignments. Weights are reapportioned to equal 100% if those used do not total 100%.
How weighting works: A category is given a percentage weight. The total percent earned in that category is multiplied by the weight, and then added to the result of the same calculation for other categories. The sum of all these calculations is the percentage on which a grade is based. Weighted categories should total 100%. If they don't, the weights are reapportioned to equal 100% for calculation purposes.
Set your grading scale. Numbers convert to letters. Use Advanced Settings to set the number of decimal points. Scores are rounded up/down to the last decimal.
Note: Set up the scale for each gradebook in each course.

Default Cell Value Empty/blank cell are treated as "exempt" mathematically. If you choose "0" as the default value, the "0" will count toward student scores.
Decimal Rounding Choose whether you want to round grade percentages to tenths, hundredths, thousandths, whatever.
Combine rosters into a single gradebook to make assigning work and scoring easier.
