Gradebook: Grade Export to SIS

Who Can Export Grades

School Loop's grade export feature is fully integrated with SASI, Aeries Access, and Aeries SQL. Schools using other Student Information Systems (SIS) have found solutions for importing grades using the import file created by our grade export system. Teachers using the School Loop gradebook or one of our integrated partner gradebooks are able to take full advantage of our grade export feature. Even teachers who have not used our gradebook can export grades through our system.

PLEASE NOTE: Teacher grades are not immediately exported to the SIS database. Grades submitted are stored on our system for mass export at a later time. Contact your district or school for information about when your grades will appear in the SIS.

grade exportHow To Submit Grades

1. When grades are due, a Grades Due alert will appear on your homepage. The alert box contains the name of the marking period, the due date for grades, and the course(s) you teach. A date in the Submitted column indicates that you've already submitted grades for that course. Click the Go link for a course to get started.

choose source2. Choose the source of the grades you wish to export. Full Gradebook includes published and unpublished grades. Progress Reports include only published grades.

Which source should I choose?
Choose the full gradebook option if you want every entry in your gradebook (published and unpublished) to count towards the grade report, but have not yet entered any items for the next grading period.

Choose the progress report option if you want only the published items to count towards the grade report. A safe practice is to re-publish all the assignments you wish to include in the grade report just before exporting.

3. Based on your source of grades, the Submit Grades page automatically displays each student's name, ID and average. The appropriate grade from your grade scale will be pre-selected for the grade column. Adjust grades if desired and select options from other columns, if present (e.g. conduct, work habits, and comments).

buttons4. Click the Submit Grades button when you're ready.

Tip: As long as the Grades Due window remains open, you may submit grades as many times as are necessary. Each submission overwrites the previous, so there's no chance of conflicting submissions.

If you wish to retain a copy of your submitted grades, click the Download File & Save button. This action will generate a tab delimited text file of your submission and saves your selections but does not submit grades for export to the SIS. Similarly, the Print & Save button saves your settings and displays a printable version of your submissions, but does not submit grades for export to the SIS.

Tip: If you’ve already submitted grades but have since added new grades, click the Reload From Source button. The previously saved values for conduct, work habits and comments will still be there.

5. Repeat this process for each of your course centers and you're done!
