In the Toolbox of each Course Center, there is a link for Roster Tools. Note that we've indicated next to this link that the seating chart is included as part of these tools. Look for the Seating Chart link just below the gray bar where the period numbers are listed. Alternately, you may click on the Roster link for any course in the Dashboard of your homepage.
When you first access the seating chart for a given course, you need to specify the number of rows and columns in the seating chart. Although we start you with a grid, you may move, add, and delete seats as desired.
Be sure to click the Save Layout button once you're satisfied with the layout. You may modify the layout at any time, but the last saved layout will appear each time you access the seating chart tool.

Click on the Students tab after saving your seating chart layout. Your students should be listed to the left of the seating chart. You have three options for placing students into their assigned seats.
At any time, you may switch or combine these methods for assigning students to seats. Be sure the click the Save Seat Assignments button before leaving this page.
While on the Students tab, click the Save and Print button. In most cases, the seating chart printout will be more than satisfactory. If your classroom has a large number of seats, you may need to play with the printer settings. To adjust the print settings, use the "Print Preview" option under the "File" menu on your browser and look for the option to adjust the scale. Each browser handles this option in its own way, but it's typically a percent setting. Firefox has a particularly useful "Shrink To Fit" option in addition to a percentage setting. If your classroom has a small number of seats, you might try bumping the scale above 100%.
